Joe was engaged to be the DP for Pacific Ocean: Polynesian Voyage, capturing footage for a number of projects for National Geographic and Disney channel, centred around The Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) and their double-hulled voyaging canoes Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia
